Church of the Holy Angels
A suite of free-standing liturgical furnishings (details) spatially anchors the new and surrounding interior space at Holy Angels Catholic Church located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The design of the furnishings integrates liturgy, narrative, symbolism and metaphor. The furnishings are handcrafted “details” fabricated from cherry, hard maple, redheart, bird's eye maple, granite and brushed satin bronze. The cherry lumber was harvested from the existing site when the church was built. The cherry was seasoned and incorporated into the liturgical furnishings. Prayers, written by members of the church, submitted to the fabricator, were literally incorporated in the furniture. The granite used to build the font and at the sanctuary platform, as well as the satin bronze finishes used throughout the new church (doors and hardware), were incorporated in the design of the furnishings.
St. Francis of the Providence of God
Liturgical furniture design and chapel renovation for the Sisters at Saint Francis of the Providence of God convent in Pittsburgh, PA. Liturgical furnishings include: altar, ambo, cantor stand, ambry, exhibition of the scriptures, iconostasis screen, tabernacle, paschal candle holder, font. Interior renovation of the chapel was developed and completed in collaboration with Gary Carlough, project architect for the chapel.
St. Charles Borromeo
A suite of liturgical furnishings for Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located in Kettering, Ohio. Liturgical pieces include: two altars, two ambos, presider's chair, lectern, cantor stand, credence table, gift table, reconciliation screen, processional cross and tabernacle.
The design of the tabernacle above received the IDEC Best of Show Design Award.
Valley Temple Synagogue
Sanctuary renovation of Valley Temple Synagogue, located in Wyoming, Ohio. The project included the design and fabrication of the Bima, new seating, and new interior finishes The liturgical furnishings include: Ark, Ner Tamid, Ritual Table and a Reader's Desk.
